Nystatin

Unread postby iggy131313 » Mon May 18, 2015 8:36 am

This is just so odd.....

I was reading a PGAD post the other day on an ssri website....and I noted that a woman took a drug called Amykal and the pgad left after having it for 2 years....this seems to be an antifungal drug with the active ingredient being Terbinafine hydrochloride

THEN...today im reading through the thread on licorice root and theres talk of the propecia forum finding great success with NYSTATIN...another antifungal???

I cant find out, but is there anything that is similar about these 2 drugs? anything tat works in opposing ways? is the active ingredient the same? Im struggling to find out....

By the way Licorce root could have some antifungal effects as well. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1905282/
But calm down and choose an appropiate thread titel.

quite right, amended, and thats interesting about licorice root...

personally I feel rather than the antifungal element it could be more about the way the drug works, and without a doubt what it does to serotonin...but its just so WEIRD that someone was cured of PGAD and at the same time coming across this.......

its a new direction that needs really looking into....what do the 2 drugs have in common and how do they work on anything that effects serotonin.....ghoooooosssttt, use your amazing research skills on this bad boy of a topic!!

nystatin increases NITRIC OXIDE....this could be another reason it helps with PSSD

Re: Amykal/ NYSTATIN/ licorice Root/ Antifungals and their methods of action

Unread postby continue » Fri May 29, 2015 3:50 pm

man... me and a friend of mine got improvements with nystatin + diflucan for PSSD.

nystatin gave me dreaming + morning woods, and diflucan gave me spontaenous erections, better erections and sensations+orgasm back.

we REALLY DON'T KNOW WHY! at first I thought I had systemic fungal infection, maybe even prostatitis (it burns while I pee sometimes). but these things happen ONLY with nystatin+diflucan. I tried other antifungals, jatoba, neem, coconut oil (neem is scientifically proof to be as strong as diflucan) but none of them would give this result, so I guess there is something else besides its antifungal effects. I also found nystatin to work on 5ht1a receptors:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15219865

there are only two people with PSSD who got improvement with nystatin. if someone wants to try (and take it for at least 1 month), it would be a good experimentation. people from PropeciaHelp also don't know why it works for them.

now I have stopped everything, and I'll try taking Prozac again and tapering it off slowly.

but if it doesn't work, I will get back to nystatin+diflucan, because... seriously... it was what best worked for me, REALLY DON'T KNOW WHY! and taking it continuously, you have persistent effects, which was what happened to my friend. he doesn't even need to take nystatin any more.
