quick intro Jax

Unread postby Jaxx » Mon Jan 02, 2017 3:17 pm

Hi all,

just a quick introduction from my side. I had serious anhedonia and PSSD symptoms since im off paxil in 2015, which i've used for a year. (i tapered down slowly btw)
I had my "cured" windows, on moclobemide, and on SJW, both lasted for about a week. I have also used mirtrazapine for a short period, which was good for erections, no impact on libido. The effect was also declining over time.
I am currently most focused to cure the anhedonia, for which im taking nortriptyline (for a week now). First impression is positive, more energy and a surprizing libido improvement (dreams, mood etc.) but at the same time there are signs of genital numbness and less strong erection (worse than before), maybe ill look for a combo to counteract this.

Anyway,
ill keep you posted on important progress.

Best,
Jaxx

Hi Jax, Welcome to the forums. That's good that you have seen improvement, even if it was short lived. In other words, you still have the ability to achieve normal sexuality. And yes, please keep everyone posted.

Hi Jax,

Good to have you on board.

Glad to hear the nortriptyline is mostly positive for you at this stage (unfortunate about the erections).

Please do keep us posted with updates, whether good or bad. From an exchange in another thread, nortriptyline (in combination with a SSRI) has piqued my interest.

Out of interest - have you or your doctor considered eventual combination of nortriptyline with a SSRI?

Cheers

for a short time I actually had one combo in the past: Mirtazapine & Escitalopram. No impact on libido, but definately stronger erection, although that effect declined over time.
I have read the combo's with nortriptyline on several fora, and im a bit surprized that nortrptyline and mirtazapine are the 2 augmentating options. Mirta was sedating for me plus gave me a enormous appetite, while nortriptyline gives me energy and reduces my appetite (a bit).
