Edronax

Unread postby Miguel29 » Mon May 15, 2017 1:00 am

So today I went to a Men's Sexual Health Specialist. It was a relatively short session. I spoke to him about the persistent sexual side effects after stopping SSRI's and the fact that my testosterone has recently come back quite low.

He said he'd come across several of these cases over the years. And that he believed that the way to treat PSSD is by taking "Edronax" an NRI (also known as Reboxetine). His words were "It reverses the sexual side effects caused by SSRI's". I'm really hesitant to begin taking another anti-depressant, especially as how over the last few months I've regained the ability to get an erection (although I still have no morning wood, zero libido, genital numbness and pleasureless orgasms).

It's quite tempting to take him at his word, especially when he was so confident this would actually reverse PSSD symptoms. Do you guys think it's worth the risk? I know NRI's can cause their own set of sexual side effects. He also said that treating my depression might actually raise my testosterone also.

The other thing he said is that he recommended that I take Cialis daily for a few months for the purpose of regaining morning and nocturnal erections. I haven't had Morning Wood for atleast 5 years. The idea being to only take Cialis for the short term until i am able to get Morning Wood naturally (again not sure if this would even work)

So is it worth the risk?

For me Reboxetine don't work for try to fix PSSD, is a NARI norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and can have sexual side effects like ED and anorgasmia and it can worsen PSSD symptoms. For cialis daily I take it in the past for 2 months, 5mg, And helped me through the flow of blood into the penis, And I had morning erection frequently.

Ditto on the Cialis. It helped with blood flow and I mentally felt relieved enough to relax more. I couldn't afford it to keep doing it.

As far as i know Reboxitine is a very questionable antidepressant in terms of effectiveness, but has very limited affinity with serotonine. (sexual side effects of SNRI's are well known)
If your doc knows what he is doing it might be worth a shot, but i also understand your doubts here.

Thanks everyone. Yeah it seems like the risks don't outweigh the results.

Question for the guys who took Cialis; Did you guys continue to get morning wood after discontinuing your daily dose of Cialis? The whole point to taking it for me is to get back Morning Wood naturally, but I am sceptical the effects would last.

I've always contended that one of the parts of my PSSD was an almost vanishing of the "fight or flight" response of the brain.

Supposedly, Reboxetine is designed to treat this type of emotional concern via noradrenaline.

After reading this, I noticed that Reboxetine is readily available for delivery to the USA.

I might give it a shot. It's not too expensive.

The fact that sexual side effects/erectile dysfunction are listed in the side effects section of the label makes it questionable, though.

i also got to try it. i think it could be of some use. for me, it caused me to ejaculate before reaching orgasm, like about one second earlier. and mostly made my dick shrink at times.
this still means that it has a profound effect on the genital area, and if i was you i would give it a shot. Id did not make the situation worse in any way. Dont miss the change for your tailor-made personal silver bullet... i really doubt it could worsen the situation in any way. I am actually now realizing i did not give it a fair trial on its own. I still have some and as soon as im done with trazodone, ill try again

Your comment about reboxetine really stuck in my mind. It's a rather new anti-depressant, which isnt prescribed that much, without significant serotonine action. How confident was your sexual health specialist that this would help? Did he really recognise PSSD, instead of classifying it as an a-typical depression?
I couldnt find any scientific base for this, so getting a prescription seems hard (for me at least)....
