Ergotamine

Unread postby apachuri » Sun Feb 01, 2015 7:51 am

Has anyone tried Ergotamine?

According to its Wikipedia page, the drug has been reported to be a serotonin (including 5HT1a), dopamine, and epinephrine agonist. I have read through some studies that suggest it has a ht1a agonistic property to it. I will admit that I don't understand the articles as I am not a scientist. But the articles should certainly provide a good discussion for those who do understand them. Read them, but don't take these studies as any sort of hope for us.

The vasoconstriction this drug causes is definitely something to watch out for as none of us want gangrene. It may also be notable that agonizing adrenergic receptors will not help our erections (I presume we would want vasoDIALATION instead of constriction).

Let me know what you think. Let's have a discussion.

I tried dihydroergotamine back when I had just realized that I had PSSD. It was one of my first experiments, when I was somewhat better than today. It didn't work for me, although one has to take into account -and I didn't back then because I still didn't understand many things- the fact of the numerous receptors that it also affects, and of course its vasoconstrictor properties. What I have to note is that at least it didn't make me feel worse, contrary to the other 5-HT1A agonists that I tried a year later.

Probably not a good idea unless you're under the care of a doctor.
