Pregnenelone

Unread postby Maxin » Sat Feb 02, 2019 2:45 pm

Im in the middle of trialing pregnenelone again. My body temps are so low and I know I’m not getting enough thyroid, but my body does not handle thyroid even in tiny doses. Thyroid causes major fatigue (on top of my chronic fatigue) and a handful of other symptoms like tooth sensitivity and depression/anhedonia. Only thing I can figure is low cortisol but supplementing that makes symptoms worse as well. So I figured pregnenelone might help. Holy crap I feel awful on this stuff. Interesting enough it does help anhedonia but my fatigue is awful. I’m so frustrated of trying everything and every combination and getting worse. Any clues as to why pregnenlone makes symptoms worse as well? I’m female which is also frustrating because this is the only place I can come to figure this all out, but I know I can’t apply hormones in the same way as most of you here. At least there are some docs looking in to hormones for pssd in men. And that’s even such a small number. But for the ladies there is no one out there at all looking at our hormones. Sorry for the rant.

Thanks guys. I have done a lot of trials of hc. I also trailed prednisone and dexamethasone at different points. The steroids will make me feel better for about a week, but then I get so much worse fatigue wise. And so then I would add thyroid but wouldn’t be able to handle the thyroid. When it works, it really does work but it never is sustainable. I struggle with weight as well, and I remember once when getting a cortisone injection (while on t4) I felt completely recovered for about a week. And the weight came off so fast. So the answer lies somewhere in the steroid system but I’ve tried it all and can’t recover with their use.

Fatigue is almost impossible to treat even more difficult than sexual dysfunction and anhedonia ,people with cfs still struggle after 20 years and no scientists have minimal clue about what approaches can be done.

P.S.
Zadig please stop with this thyroid insanity you are a smart guy but we can screw permanently hour glands with this protocol.. We are not hypo! We are simply become insensitive to ourselves steroids and Baylor study are running to confirmed that!

I read somewhere today that pregnenlone is an aldosterone antagonist. I have no idea how much truth there is to that. But I got me thinking that pregnenlone gives me the same feeling of awfulness that steroids did, after the initial good window. And how I felt on licorice too now that I’m remembering that trialS. Maybe it has something to do with aldosterone. Because I remember doing high doses of potassium at one point and having this same awful feeling. I feel nauseous and depressed and lifeless. It’s a very specific set of symptoms I get from messing with steroid system. Anyways just thinking out loud. Thanks for listening:)
