Keto Diet / Ketosis

Unread postby Ghost » Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:20 pm

At the rec of several on here I did keto.

Last week I did 5 days - I did some urine tests and I was deep into ketosis by day 3-5. I then took a 2 day break this weekend, and now am in for a second cycle with a target of more unsaturated fats instead of saturated ones.
OCD was worse days 1-2 last week but I think it has been better since then. I can't yet tell if this is from the diet or if it will get better/last.

I wanted to make a thread to document this and get the experience of others.

PSSD wise: Had sex twice last week. Had hard and lasting erections. Sex was good but I also have been in a better period recently.

I did Keto from about 2013-2017. I was very strict with it, and followed my macros religiously. It did nothing for PSSD for me. What is your main purpose for doing keto, and what are your macros?

Ghost I hope you don’t mind me asking but when you said you had sex twice last week, was that with a partner who is understanding and knows about your pssd or was it with someone who knows nothing about pssd?

Watch out with doing strict keto. Amazing for OCD, awfull for anhedonia. Raises Gaba, depletes glutamate. I had this experience too. 80/100g of carbs seems more of a better balance for me. Low, but not too low.

I haven't told her about PSSD, but we have been seeing each other for some while now.

I've never told a girl, actually, and will likely only tell my future wife, maybe never fully disclosing. I try to separate "Ghost" from the real me as much as I can. I haven't been in the situation yet where I needed to tell a girl, and I'm afraid that if I tell them that they may over-analyze things or I will lose confidence. There is something really sexy about thinking the other person wants to do nothing but fuck you all day.

Hopefully the weekend "cheat" days will help with this... I'll play it by ear. So far, so good. I'm a lot better than I was last week. It's to be seen if that is from Keto or not.

Wise approach.

I've had two relationships where I've mentioned I have PSSD, but only after some time. As a few people have done on these forums I usually say I'm on a SSRI and that my side effects are caused by that. And then if things are going well I say that I have PSSD. Initial understanding and patience has later been replaced with accusations of lying and not being completely honest about things - and how that means that as a person I could be a liar in general.

Perhaps I've been unlucky with who I've met.

I continuously do low carb high saturated fat (unsaturated fat makes me anhedonic, while saturated raises testosterone) with improvements.

I never did keto, only moderate low carb. Around 80-100 g daily. Saturated fat protects the liver, and I also drink daily for several months with remarkable improvements in PSSD symptoms. I do a 8 hour refeeding (cheat day) on saturday... with the purpose of eating as much carbo as I can and increase my metabolic rate afterwards.

I'm becoming lean and muscular, despite the huge amount of carbs on saturday and daily drinking.
