lithium orotate

Unread postby silverstar » Mon Aug 08, 2016 8:20 am

I am trying this. It's supposed to help heal the brain and hpa axis issues.

I'm starting:

Lithium orotate liquid
Country natural fish oil (it's called Mood)
Msm for sulphur

Currently:

Krill oil
Magnesium
Multi vitamin
Liquid vitamin d
Lions mane

I've tried :

Curcumin
B vitamins
Wellbutrin
Remeron
Trazadone
Reinstate 5htp
Syrian rue (felt slight arousal) nothing great
Pure CBD - felt relaxed less anxiety

I feel slightly more energy today and my orgasm was surprisingly better and I felt slightly sexual and horny

I'm taking for brain healing:

Lithium orotate
Opti MSM
9g of country natural fish oil (for tbi healing protocol)
Liquid vitamin D with vitamin k

I've tried a lot of supplements and pharmaceuticals and I think so far I'm getting the best results with these
Always get your iron and vitamin b12 and vitamin d levels checked too

Based on findings from animal models, we hypothesize that lithium downregulates the presynaptic 5-HT1A receptor, upregulates the postsynaptic 5-HT1A receptor, and upregulates 5-HTT. We obtained pilot funding to perform PET scanning of the 5-HT1A and 5-HTT systems in bipolar depressed subjects before and after a therapeutic course of lithium monotherapy. In this small sample the brain proteins were altered as hypothesized.

I'm trying low dose supplement lithium what do you think?

According to the hypothesized mechanism of pssd, downregulation of presynaptic 5ht1a receptors is its cause. So further downregulation would not be desirable.

But I don't think studies about lithium monotherapy (meaning lithium carbonate) apply to the lithium orotate
you're taking, because it's typically given at a much much higher dosage.. You'd need to find studies on lithium orotate at a similar dosage range to what you're taking to be able to speculate about its effects really...

How is the lithium orotate going, silverstar? My psychiatrist says she is doubtful about the safety and efficacy of lithium orotate because of the lack of double-blind placebo controlled studies. She prescribed lithium carbonate beginning at 150mg to help with my mood swings.

So lithium carbonate is bad for PSSD? I’m already nervous about the other side effects of lithium but depression and anxiety are making me feel terrible. But anything that makes PSSD worse is not worth it to me. I don’t want to go backwards by taking a drug that may not even have any benefit anyway. I don’t know what to do…I’m running out of options.
