Try Agmatine

Here's one that you guys might like.

I know before going on SSRI + TCA this one really improved my mood, erections & pleasure. It appears to regulate nitric oxide levels which are reduced by SSRIs (thought to reduce erection quality)
It also boosts efficiency of many anti depressants, so perhaps adding Wellbutrin, or a NRI based TCA would be beneficial.

2grams a day oughta do it. It's pretty cheap too from Powdercity.

10x better than it was without meds. I can actually visualise sex now, before i couldnt link my imagination to sex.
I think libido / sex drive is entirely linked to depression & dopamine transmission. SSRI + TCA addresses both.

I may have to try this.

I will disagree with you till the end that this was caused by depression. Even though I was depressed I still had a very high sex drive. It wasn't until I took effexor that this all happened

Yep but any drug does change the brain. especially SSRIs, depression is linked to no sex drive / numbness / blunting of the senses.
So SSRIs can make depression worse before it gets better, and it would seem it rewires the brain to go into a deeper depression in some people. Likely Melancholic (gene defect)
Because severe depression is when you can't feel anything. SSRI induced or not. MIlder forms you still have sex drive/emotions.

Look at this paper on what causes SSRIs to reduce DA tone.

"The serotonin (5-HT) and dopamine (DA) systems modulate numerous brain functions and are implicated in the pathophysiology of affective, anxiety, and movement disorders. Both systems interact by mutually innervating brain regions/circuits and reciprocally modulating each other. This 5-HT/DA interaction plays a critical role in the action of antidepressant drugs. 5-HT-selective reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) for example, block 5-HT transporter (5-HTT) function to increase 5-HT signaling, but may also induce side effects typically associated with reduced DA signaling, such as anhedonia, apathy, reduced libido, akathisia, and extrapyramidal motor symptoms (EPSs)"
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3758550/

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2674976/

"Sustained administration of escitalopram robustly decreased the firing rate and burst activity of DA neurons. There was no difference in the mean number of spontaneously active DA neurons per tract among the 3 groups (citalopram, escitalopram, control). This inhibition was reversed by the selective 5-HT2C receptor antagonist SB 242084. Citalopram, however, did not alter the overall firing rate but inhibited the burst activity of DA neurons."

the reason adding a TCA to an SSRI is specifically for above. blocking certain 5HT receptors with an SSRI present, will reverse the reduction in Dopamine transmission, and then you get the benefits of the SSRI for depression without the downsides, as well as the synergy provided by the TCA.

Hi!

Can you describe in further details how did you take agmatine? In one big dose, smaller dosages, full or empty stomach? How long did it take for you to feel the effects of this combination?

This guy didn't feel any improvement at all.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/com ... synergism/

I am taking 300 Wellbutrin(bupropion) and there is hard to say that there has been actually any improvement to my current status - almost total lack of interest in sex or in any sexual thoughts, with rare short time "windows" of improvement; if one can really call them improvements. I also do weight training exercises, pull ups, chin ups, I hope* one day I will be able to do muscleups on a regular basis. I think this kind of exercise is to some extent beneficial to my wellbeing and I recommend it to all of you guys.

I plan to do this experiment with agmatine ( 2 grams a day), yolo!

Cipralex (escitalopram) from september 2012 to september 2013. Forgot exact dosage. PSSD improving since taking 20g MSM powder per day, no porn and regular heavy lifting fitness routine. Stay strong!
