pssd roulette

Unread postby zadig777 » Wed Sep 19, 2018 8:24 am

What do you think are the chances for getting PSSD,or other permanent side effects when u get off AD like akathasia,RLS,sleep problems etc..
I think they are 5-10% meaning every 10th to 20th user would get permanent side effects?
That is too much realistically, but since we are out of data we have to speculate
Do you think is 5-10% or less than 5%?
As we saw any class of AD can do this, not just ssri,so there should be cases even 20yrs or more ago, when there was no net.
If it is less than 5% we are extremely unlucky and we deserve this(speaking of myself)
I knew about pssd, but continued anyway and it all happened too fast..
I decided to do this to my life knowing the risk(ignoring),thinking is less than 1% and hopping im not that unlucky
I have many regrets, but this is too hard to live with and is such a heavy heavy burden
Looking forward to ur opinions on this matter
Regards

It's completely pointless to discuss it because we can only guess. We have almost no data and to calculate such things you need studies lasting for years with thousands of participants, omitting the fact (what's really funny) that the exact mechanism of action of SSRI/SNRI is still unknown. Please bro, give yourself a brake, I've been observing your activity and you are only torturing yourself. You are beautiful human being and only thing that can help you now is patience. I know it's hard, we all do, but thinking of PSSD all day long definitely won't help us. We can still take care of our health (sports, fit life-style, good diet, meditation, yoga) and our odds might be higher. Maybe stay out of this forum for a while, because just like in my case reading all the negative stuff here can only make you feel worse.

there are no odds and im only real and thats why im feeling like a piece of shit

Those so called 'windows' and instant but short response of PSSD to some drugs and supplements may be the proof that this condition is reversible. The worst aspect of our misfortune is that we have no clue what really happened to us. But, to be honest, I would choose PSSD every time over being blind or crippled. It's not so bad after all, many people would give everything to be in our place.

Don’t beat yourself up so much. Give it time.

I felt like absolute shit for close to 1.5 years.
It wasn’t very long ago when I would think this nightmare would never end.
Every treatment I tried seemed to improve things for a bit only to come crashing back down.

But things do improve with time for most of us. And good periods follow the bad.
That’s why people come and go from this forum.

I don’t know if i’ll ever recover but i’ve found peace with it.
During the good periods I can have a decent life. During the bad I remind myself the good will follow.

A positive mindset does help. Even if you don’t want to hear that.
I wasn’t depressed before I got pssd but I sure as hell was afterwards!

If you want I can outline some treatments that gave me periods of relief.
They didn’t stick but it was nice to feel better, if only for a while.

Exactly its pointless to discuss this without any data...unless we have more people in this forum contributing and getting DNA Test and sending them to Ghost. That way we can figure out if its a genetic thing or not. Until then we can't really know a percentage.
