Creatine

Unread postby continue » Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:45 pm

Did anyone tried creatine?
I want to build muscles easily, but I'm afraid of trying it and get the numbness again. I'm getting better since december, but easily I can take "normal stuffs" that let me anesthesized (like chamomile, green tea, garlic...).

So I'd like to know in advance if it helps PSSD or make it worse, because it's really boring feeling numbness again and wait some days to get back to "normal" previous state...

It SEEMS it will be good to PSSD, just like BCAA:
In humans, studies that investigate links between serotonin and creatine supplementation find that 21 trained males, given creatine via 22.8g creatine monohydrate (20g creatine equivalent) with 35g glucose, relative to a placebo of 160g glucose, was found to reduce the perception of fatigue in hot endurance training, possibly secondary to serotonergic modulation, specifically attentuating the increase of serotonin seen with exercise (normally seen to hinder exercise capacity in the heat[234]) while possibly increasing dopaminergic activity (conversely seen to benefit activity in the heat[235]).[151]

I tried it for training and it had no effect on my PSSD. You won't have problems. :)

but do you still feel numbness?

when we are feeling numbness, nothing does any effect. but when you get out of numbness, lots of stuffs can make you feel worse... that's why I'm afraid.

I discontinued taking creatine just few weeks ago just after the loading phase since it somehow worsened my condition - I wouldnt compare it to as that bad as worsened with SSRI but I felt more dull, also the anesthesia worsened a bit also, so I rather discontinued - after some time when creatine effect faded out I took zinc for couple of days and it came back to "normal" PSSD.
This is the 2nd time for me with the same result while taking creatine - but everyone is different.
There are couple of studies you can check - claming it has some effect on 5HT1A, unfortunately not positive one for me.
But I wouldnt be afraid to try it, nothing permanent.

thanks, ssinus

yes, creatine does "something" on 5-ht1a, but we don't know if agonism or antagonism.
I had this problems with garlic. Garlic should increase 5-ht1a receptors, but it worsened my condition.

thanks a lot, ssinus. I won't take creatine before getting fully cured and stabilized for a long time.

I really don't want to give it a try, because it bothers me so much get aneshtesia back. and it takes some days-week to get back to normal again. that happened previously with chamomile, then green tea, then garlic, then quercetin... I don't want to play with this kind of stuff any more.

Funny you mentioned this. I used creatine a while back, and felt it had negative effects on me as well.
