Hormonal irregularities

Unread postby lost_soul » Fri Jun 09, 2017 11:33 am

To further explore the idea that SSRI induced hormonal problems may play a part in PSSD, have any of you noticed other things about yourselves that could be explained by abnormal hormone levels? For me, my face seems to be a lot different to how it was before I got pssd. It would anyway since I was only 17, but it's like the bone structure went down a different route entirely. I think I'm a lot weaker physically than I was then too which is the opposite of what you'd expect.
21, male, extreme pssd for four years
Tried inositol (slight improvements) cialis (very limited improvements) yohimbine (slight improvements) maca root (no effect) bacopa monieri (no effect) estradiol-17b (pronounced improvement in all areas of sexuality)

How is it different than you would expect?
Hormone irregularities are known to potentially cause general fatigue and libido issues.

I lift weights and I have also noticed a significant reduction in strength since getting PSSD.

Well when I look at pictures of myself from before PSSD and early on in PSSD I look more masculine facially than I do now.

Zoloft PSSD slated my hormones to the point I started TRT at 27. So yeah... you could say I noticed some changes. :)

Some things I noticed which may ve hormonal relating since PSSD.

-increased body aches (often a sign of crushed estrogen)
-lower energy
-stubborn belly fat
-little to no morning erections (probably once a week)
-complacency. I have little to no desire to pursue women. I'm still heterosexual it's just there's no impulse or need.

It's hard to say anything about facial changes because many of us are still developing. There is no way to know how we would have looked without an SSRI.

That's a good point. Its tough to say when several years pass what's really going on. It's entirely possible that the brain is distorting reality. Like ghost said, your body isn't static and continuously goes through changes.

I know I'm guilty of this as well but in my opinion we have too many threads discussing symptoms ane not enough people discussing their honest attempts at either improving their health and/or experimenting with stuff.
By now we have a pretty good idea what these drugs have done to us symptom wise. Some have all the symptoms, some have a few.

I challenge everyone - if you smoke, quit. If you drink a lot, cut back. Excersise.

Quite honestly treat your body like it's the only thing that will get you out of this mess.

The thing is, a healthy lifestyle does not help. Most of us are in our twenties. Plenty of twenty year old don't live healthily and they don't have sexual problems. Plenty of fifty year old too.

No one is saying that unhealthy lifestyles were the cause of our symptoms, but if we want to maximise our chances of recovery we have to treat our bodies right. Being healthy puts one in a better place to deal with any mental illness and most illnesses in general
PSSD Since March 2016 after 4 weeks on Sertraline
Conditioned worsened and peaked in April, since then possibly seen a 20% improvement
Would be useful for data collection if people could add their histories in their signature
