Wellbutrin and Ginko biloba

Unread postby Blueturtle » Thu Apr 11, 2019 2:17 pm

Hello

I am considering trying ginkgo biloba while I am on Wellbutrin, could that have positive or negative effects?

The dose I’m on is 300 mg Wellbutrin and I have 120 mg ginko biloba capsules here.

Thanks.
PSSD from citalopram.
Took it Winter 2012-Summer 2016
Cut cold turkey. Symptoms include genital anesthesia, ejaculatory anhedonia, low libido, Burning/tingling genital pain.

If I were you, I would start with a lower dose and go up the dosage by time. Single 80 mg gingko pill gave me a semi-permanent headache.

Bupropion (Wellbutrin) lowers the seizure threshold while ginkgo biloba is a GABA-A negative allosteric modulator. If you really want to try these two, then take a very low ginkgo dose, like 40-50 mg max.

Thanks guys

I just read some randomized controlled trials about the efficacy of ginko biloba in sexual function and the results were not that impressive. Perhaps I’ll just stay away from ginko.

Just one ginkgo biloba tablet took away my ability to orgasm, and libido was on the floor for a week. Fortunately everything returned to baseline, but it makes me ultra cautious about trying any supplements.
Male
PSSD after 3 days on Sertraline (50mg) (Aurobindo) December 2016 to date.
Tinnitus, insomnia (1.5 hours/night sleep) poor memory/cognition as a bonus!
Possibly PSSD from October 1998...just didn't realise what I was suffering from! (pre internet)

2 Ginkgo pills gave me instant brain fog relief (within 30 min) , increased libido for one day, and after this i crashed below my baseline, non existent libido, killed my OCD and emotions that were left since SSRI crash (5-10%), skin more numb. It's a nightmare.

In BPH, Ginkgo alone had no effect on T, 5α-reductase, and dihydrotestosterone (DHT), but suppressed androgen receptor (AR), aromatase, E2 and estrogen receptor (ER), and the proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA)

Someone can get benefits from Ginkgo, but just take care, it can destroy what is left.

Yeah it's a nightmare.. I suspect that most severe cases got both Androgen and estrogen receptor overexpressed

good GOOGLY MOOGLY

this all sounds TERRIBLE

Alright that’s it no ginko lol. I already took a few months worth awhile back and I don’t think it has much of an effect either way.
