I've started Nystatin again at 6-8 pills per day and within some hours my mind, my brain fog, my sight have cleared up again very noticably.... (no placebo) Nystatin just feels so right.

But as you guys say, it won't help with the sexual dysfunction....

I wonder why no one ever talks about Diflucan (Flucanozol), which could also played a role in recovery of the PFS -Patient.

In Area's Forum, a woman talkes about Diflucan and she said that it helps with PSSD. (also a cortisone injection did help her... tenyears cortef story?)

“And the last one that I am currently trying is diflucan. It was by accident I discovered this. The first week was amazing. I thought I was cured. But again major fatigue. This is because this medication lowers cortisol. They actually use it as a treatment for cushings. But I am now going at 50mg doses a day and it does help. What is interesting is that someone on the pssd forum said he had remission from it and his friend was cured from nystatin. So there is definitely something to it. I also had a major remission about 5 years ago. And I'm thinking it was from a cortisone injection. “

I will try Diflucan (with Nystatin) and report soon.

Any updates on Nystatin? Is it dead? It started off so promisingly? All of you who started on it, could you please report? Even if it failed for you, could you let us know, what it did and what it didn't do, so it gets documented. I remember fablecloth, who started on it and there were more people starting. I was about to start it soon (I need to wait to get off another med, before starting Nystatin).

I took Nystatin for about 3 weeks. I did not notice any changes to my PSSD. I took between 4M and 8M IU per day. I stopped because I felt more depressed and melancholic on it. It significantly reduced my motivation to work, exercise, etc. Within a few days of cessation I felt normal. I still have some left so would be willing to give it another go if we see some more promising results that could make it worth me sticking it out.

I took it together with Moclobemide and not high enough doses, I'm not giving up on it yet, I'll try it in few weeks hopefully.

Found this article, could this be a faint hint as to why Nystatin has an effect?

Diflucan helped me only in the first day. When I tried again, it didn't work.

Well, Operation Nystatin was unfortunately a failure for me. No PSSD success after 5 or 6 months.

It did make me very irritable, as well as cause me to suddenly gain 20 pounds the first month I took it. Despite what they say about only "trivial" amounts of this drug being absorbed, it's definitely doing something to the body.

PS I have an unopened 500 million unit jar of pure Nystatin USP powder. If anyone living in Canada is interested in giving the Nystatin thing a try, PM me and maybe we can arrange something. Good luck.

After reading all this, I want to try Diflucan. That said, I can only find it to buy online as 1 capsule - how the heck am I meant to get a longer supply of this?
